The 2007 California Building Code is now here...
On July 1, 2007 the latest editions of the codes that guide the design and construction of California hospitals became available. Hospital development professionals and contractors are now challenged to familiarize themselves with the new provisions prescribed in these codes. Based on the IBC 2006 that includes California ammendments, these codes make fundamental baseline changes from previously adopted California building codes.
The Office of Healthwide Planning and Development (OSHPD), Facilties Development Division (FDD), began enforcing these codes on January 1, 2008. Hospital representatives, design professionals, construcition and inspection personnel are encouraged to stay tuned to the OSHPD website for more information:
